It Ain’t Your Momma’s Couch:

I am Furniture Lady blogging logo 1.jpgThe Family Sectional!
By Paula Herrmann, Furniture Sales Consultant
Steinhafels Furniture, Oak Creek

A year ago I took a leap and started my encore career as a commissioned furniture salesperson. Having a Fashion Merchandising Major and Business Admin degree from UW-STOUT I found myself somewhat coming full circle retail. It’s been a big circle starting on the Prange’s Teen Board at their flagship, crowned-jeweled store in downtown Green Bay at 16 years old (yes, this dates me!), to management positions at Bullock’s Department Store in Scottsdale AZ and the Boston Store at Northridge Mall in Milwaukee. I probably shouldn’t comment on the current status of any one of these (former) destinations, as the track record isn’t good! But, alas! Three's a charm, they say. So the 4th chance must be the diamond!? Let’s go with it!

First and foremost, I was blown away by the ginormous selection of living/family room seating options our company offers. And I have found that not only do I love my job, but I am crushin’ on SECTIONALS!

Please take a moment to enjoy a chuckle via this Saturday Night Live video that encapsulates my beating heart.
Be still! <3

Whether you’re looking for stationary or reclining, leather or upholstered...we’ve got the motherload! While we don’t have Badlands or The Gathering, we can find the perfect fit for you and your family’s needs.

Let’s start with a few of my and our customer’s favorites with these stationary sectionals:

Sectionals RILEY.JPG
The Riley is a terrific transitional 2-piece sectional that is extremely affordably priced at $699.00** and available in two colors Ecru or Cashmere (shown). The fabric is a comfy woven polyester.

Sectionals ALEXA.JPG
Alexa  has only been on our sales floor for a couple of weeks, and has been turning heads at $2099.00**. With gel-infused foam cushions and covered in a soft and sumptuous light grey microfiber, she’s a step-sister to Ava (follow link) covered with a darker shade of grey and features a convenient, integrated USB charger.

sectionals EVEREST.jpg
Climb our Everest, then chill!  Recently updated with a reinforced steel frame, this modular sectional features deep, comfortable thick cushioning. Shown and stocked in the chocolate fabric combo package, Everest is also available via special order in Ivory or Seal (grey) and a number of available pieces and configurations. Back cushions are attached! Stocked configurations range in price from $1397.47 to $1847.00**.

sectional DAVENPORT.JPG
Davenport. Anyone of the era when sofa’s were called davenports?! Well, my elementary BFF’s mom was and that’s where I learned that word. The word davenport was popular was the mid 1900’s. Quality constructed in 100% genuine leather, Davenport is highly durable for today’s families with children and well worth the wait, as it is currently on order. Priced at $2399.00**. Oh, by the way it’s also available in a davenport (sofa), loveseat, chair and ottoman only in this pewter color.

sectional BELAIRE.JPG

Afraid of commitment? The Belaire modular features finished pieces that can float independently. Stocked in grey, this contemporary collection is available in a number of packaged configurations ranging from $2404.96 -3184.96**. Belaire can be ordered in many other fabrics, too! Choose your pieces, choose your fabric!

Trust me! I love all the grey, beiges, greiges, and browns, Yet, I have to throw in Remy!  It’s all about the modern/contemporary styling presenting its Urbansuede fabric with contrasting stitch. sectional REMY.jpg
You’ve got to see Remy to believe Remy! Like the Belaire above, use these finished mod pieces to suit your room. Ain’t a yellow fella? Hang tight for about 8 weeks and receive Remy in the fabric and pieces of your choice. $3158.96 - 3717.96** in our pre configured packages. $3299.00** as shown with ottoman ($467.96**.)

Sectional Carson.JPG
Featuring down-blend seat cushions, the Carson is the epitome of comfort and style. Carson is covered in 100% genuine leather in this gorgeous blackberry color. Not enough seats for your family’s butt count? We offer larger (or smaller) configurations, including a chaise lounge for either side of your sectional. As shown and stocked he’s a handsome $2,801.40**.

Let’s MOVE on and talk reclining:

sectional Placier stacked.jpg
The moment you walk onto our main sales floor, you’ll bump into the jaw-dropping power reclining
Placier. It sells like hotcakes in this soft charcoal grey 100% genuine leather cover with contrasting stitching. This configuration is a combo of the extra wide seating sofa, wedge, and loveseat pictured here with optional center console (Say “yay” to cupholders and storage!). This one could totally stretch to infinity beyond its nexus! Shown here, this Placier combination is an amazing investment in family bonding at $5,199.96**. Break it up, make it “BIGGER!” add a reclining chair, and/or order in one of the other 4 leather options.

sectional Roselle.jpg
Here’s Roselle. Built in a heavy, tough microfiber fabric she can handle your family! Each seat is a separate piece so we can build your Roselle to accommodate your room and lifestyle with power, manual or manual glider recliners on each end; and armless chairs (either stationary, manual or power reclining) to add additional seats. How many cupholders do you need? Check out the different options for creating a sofa, loveseat, or theater seating with consoles. Plus, there’s a matching reclining chair. Modular options can range in price. Our sectional displayed on the floor and to the left is nicely priced at $2047.47**.

Closed. Open. In grey. This ain’t your momma’s La-Z-Boy! There are so many ways to enjoy sectional Aspen stacked.jpg
Aspen made by the company most known and recognized for reclining, and in recent years...Brooke Shields! Furniture Lady would love to help you build your modular Aspen, available in a number of power or manual modular seats & consoles; leather or upholstery fabric, including Brooke’s endorsed iClean fabric. Investment in this shown configuration is $2100.95** .

sectional Hello Brooke.jpg

Finally, there’s the Belleview! As shown, it is stocked in truffle (taupe-ish, velour-ish 100% durable polyester) and disguised (hmmmm!) as a traditional stationary sectional. Wanting to update the style? Special order with a track or wedge arm; choosing your desired pieces, fabric or leather, and optional contrast welt cords for your unique family conversation centerpiece. And by all means, add a rocking/reclining and or reclining chair!  Pictured, Belleview is priced at $2,749.00**.sectional Belleview.JPG

“These are all made on earth!” And available at Steinhafels.
Plug me in and make me roar! Today’s furniture can come with so many options such as USB ports, standard A/C electrical outlets, reading lights, cooling cupholders, and adjustable power lumbar and headrests. You think you’ve seen it all? Coming soon we will have furniture that is controlled via apps on your smartphones.

But, don’t wait till the app comes out! You can create new memories on your family sectional now or in time for the holidays*

AWESOME Dad

Well, most are! I know your kid's daddy might not be tops in your book, yet, in the eyes of your child, he probably is. I am so grateful that when my husband and I mutually took the risk to vow to spend our lives together, then had/have children, (while not always perfect) he ended up being quite the awesome dad. Assist your child in sharing his/her celebration of dad. April Wrap Up: Wrapped in Love                           In recognition of April being Autism Awareness month, Just Add Kids welcomes Colleen Nagle, a Burlington mom, as JAK's guest blogger. Autism is easy to misunderstand, misinterpret and mislead.  My son is the master of disguise and the best way to understand our kids is to assume nothing.  That is, assume only that they are kids, children, teens, silly, loving, intelligent and, well, simply put, no different than any other kid. Everything I have been told about Autism is wrong. Everything I know about Autism I have learned from my son.  My son with Autism.  He loves me just like his typical siblings love me, he cries when he misses me and he smiles when we are together again. Putting Thoughts Into (60 Second) Action                Just Add Kids welcomes Mollie Bartelt, a Caledonia mom, as JAK's guest blogger Do you want to make a difference in your life this summer? Or make a difference for a child who has a life threatening illness? Or win $1000 in a fun challenge? Game on! My story began six months ago, when my happy, healthy nine year old daughter came in from outside playing in the snow feeling dizzy. We became alarmed when she couldn’t stand up after resting a bit...her legs were wobbly and criss-crossing and she appeared to have no balance. A few short hours later in the emergency room, the situation looked worse as she was starting to slur her speech and not even be able to get words out correctly... and she couldn’t get her hands to work to put a snack in her mouth.
