Fabulous Five Reasons to Try Chiropractic Care

Fabulous Five Reasons to Try Chiropractic Care

Many people ask me  why I and my entire family are under regular chiropractic care.  We don’t have any major medical conditions.  We don’t suffer from chronic back pain or any kind of pain for that matter.  Here are the five reasons I choose chiropractic care for all of our family’s health needs and I do mean all of them.

Chiropractic care is safe, natural, effective, affordable, and proactive.  There have been many studies done on the safety of chiropractic care over the past over 100+ years.  The most recent one was published in Spine Journal in 2008 and addressed the concern that chiropractic care might increase the chance of vertebral artery dissection.  This study along with all of the other studies that have been done found that chiropractic care is safe.  On the contrary, chiropractic care is so safe that a chiropractor’s malpractice insurance premiums are a fraction of those of a general medical doctor’s.

Chiropractic care is natural.  Chiropractors are trained to find slight or major misalignments in your vertebrae and gently put them back in alignment using variety of methods.  When your spine is in proper alignment, your nervous system works effectively.  Your nervous system controls and regulates every cell, tissue, and organ in your body.  If your nervous system is working properly, the rest of your body will be too.  Chiropractors release your body’s natural ability to protect itself from illness and injury and to heal itself from illness and injury.  Unlike, over the counter or prescription drugs, there are no negative side effects, addictive properties, or unnatural toxins to worry about.  Unlike surgery, chiropractic care is noninvasive.  Simply your body functioning at its best.  This is especially important to me as a mother of young children.

Chiropractic care is effective.  My family is healthier because of chiropractic care.  We only go to our general medical doctors for annual check ups.  We get sick and injured less often and we heal faster when we do get sick or injured.  This is true of my young children, my aging parents, and me and my husband in our middle age.

Chiropractic care is affordable.  I have to qualify this one.  Chiropractic care is affordable at Sozo Chiropractic.  We are set up as a direct pay practice.  By eliminating the overhead necessary for working with insurance companies, we are able to keep our fees low.  We offer a prenatal package and family discount.  There are no hidden fees and you can always submit your bill to your insurance company for reimbursement if that is more affordable for you.  I’m sure that Sozo is not the only affordable chiropractic office in the area.  It is just where we landed as a family.  Many insurance companies do offer chiropractic care coverage.  Check with your insurance.  Do some investigation and I’m sure you’ll find an office that works for your budget.

If you should find that chiropractic care is a bigger expense than you thought, let me encourage you to think about the expense as an investment in your health.  It is proactive and you will reap the benefits of it for years to come.  In our American culture, we tend to think of  health as the absence of sickness.  When we are sick or injured, we see a doctor and then take the appropriate medicine to treat our symptoms and help us to heal.  This is a very reactionary approach to health.  Medical insurance reinforces this form of thinking, surgeries, prescription medications, etc. are covered by insurance but not preventative therapies such as massage therapy, acupuncture, or even sometimes chiropractic care.  We aren’t investing in our health but in treating our sickness.  Over the past 3 years, my perspective of what it means to be healthy has changed.  Health doesn’t mean that you never get sick or injured, but that your body has the ability to heal itself when it gets sick or injured.  When your body isn’t sick or injured, it is in optimal working condition.  Healthy means thriving not just surviving.  Chiropractic care enables your body to function in this way.  When your spine is in line, you will be feeling fine.  It is cheesy, but it is true.  When I pay for my chiropractic visits, I smile because I know that I am investing in my and my family’s health and that is worth the cost.

If you have never considered chiropractic care for your family’s health needs, I strongly encourage you to do so.  Three years ago I decided to invest in our family’s health and well being and we have never looked back.  On the contrary, chiropractic care is now the foundation of our wellness plan and we reap the benefits of it daily.

AWESOME Dad

Well, most are! I know your kid's daddy might not be tops in your book, yet, in the eyes of your child, he probably is. I am so grateful that when my husband and I mutually took the risk to vow to spend our lives together, then had/have children, (while not always perfect) he ended up being quite the awesome dad. Assist your child in sharing his/her celebration of dad. April Wrap Up: Wrapped in Love                           In recognition of April being Autism Awareness month, Just Add Kids welcomes Colleen Nagle, a Burlington mom, as JAK's guest blogger. Autism is easy to misunderstand, misinterpret and mislead.  My son is the master of disguise and the best way to understand our kids is to assume nothing.  That is, assume only that they are kids, children, teens, silly, loving, intelligent and, well, simply put, no different than any other kid. Everything I have been told about Autism is wrong. Everything I know about Autism I have learned from my son.  My son with Autism.  He loves me just like his typical siblings love me, he cries when he misses me and he smiles when we are together again. Putting Thoughts Into (60 Second) Action                Just Add Kids welcomes Mollie Bartelt, a Caledonia mom, as JAK's guest blogger Do you want to make a difference in your life this summer? Or make a difference for a child who has a life threatening illness? Or win $1000 in a fun challenge? Game on! My story began six months ago, when my happy, healthy nine year old daughter came in from outside playing in the snow feeling dizzy. We became alarmed when she couldn’t stand up after resting a bit...her legs were wobbly and criss-crossing and she appeared to have no balance. A few short hours later in the emergency room, the situation looked worse as she was starting to slur her speech and not even be able to get words out correctly... and she couldn’t get her hands to work to put a snack in her mouth.
