Traffic Rerouted!

Last week, we opened the doors to a preview of our show. This week we learned of a change in the show. So here's a bit of a review and change at the venue. Not that it's that big of a deal, but for you EXPO! pros, and I know you're out there, it'll be a fun, new, experience.

We hope you accept our invitation to attend our 6th Annual Just Add Kids EXPO! taking place at Case High School on Saturday, April 18th from 9am-2pm.

Let's open the door to the Case High School, via the Theater doors...Read more...

Not only do we have an amazing line up of exhibitors coming and sharing their family friendly products and services, but a ton 'o fun for not a lot of dough. In fact, admission is FREE! How does that happen? Well, the FREE comes with a great partnership with Racine Unified School District, as well as support from our expo sponsors Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints, Educators Credit Union, Racine County Eye, and The Party Company, LLC.

You will be greeted by some great young people handing out our event program. Make sure to grab one! (Not a kid, a program.) Straight ahead and to the left you'll see "Just Add Kids Central". At our home booth, your kids will be able to participate in our Annual "Color Mom Beautiful" Kids Coloring Contest sponsored by Educators Credit Union and Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark. We will kick that contest off online this weekend!

So you're in the center main hallway of the school, this is where you will be able to check out the fun that our sponsors will be offering at their booths. To the right/west, you'll see two entrances that lead into the theater, which will serve as our MainStage! Kick back, take a seat, and take in a scheduled performance or three.

On the south side of the theater, take the hallway west and soon you'll see an entrance to the Bounce House. It'll be backstage of the theater, yet, there will be plenty of bouncing space. When your done, come back out the way you came in, and you'll hit the first of our FunHub! stations featuring Cuddles and Billy Boy the Clowns and their amazing facepainting, glitter tattoos, and balloon creations. You'll love that our FunHub! lines will loop around in ancillary hallways.

After that continue west into our main vendor show room, the cafeteria, and hit up as many of our vendors as you can: DeRose Children's Dental  Mad Science of Milwaukee, Inc. Racine Zoo Discovery World St. Catherine's High School DeRose Family Counseling, LLC Racine Christian School Mad Hatter Adventures Co. Racine County Opportunity Center SaintA Big Brothers Big Sisters Young Rembrandts Racine Community Tennis Association Racine Kiwanis Youth Symphony Racine Theatre Guild Mrs. Myers' Reading Room Next Generation Now The Academy of Performing Arts - Oak Creek & Franklin Mt. Somewhere along the way, you'll bump into various mascots and characters. Make sure you have plenty of data available on your phones for pictures!

Our second FunHub! station will be in the southwest corner of the cafeteria. For a limited engagement, you'll be able to meet with the Snow Queen, Ice Princess, and Loveable Snowman. The Snow Queen & Ice Princess are scheduled from 10-11am. All three of them will hit the MainStage! in the theater from 11:15-11:45am. Then the Snow Queen and Lovable Snowman will be back in the FunHub! station from 12noon-1.

You can weave back through and visit with any of the many businesses and organizations on the EXPO! exhibitor floor, which will extend down the hallway adjacent to the field house west bathrooms. Near the field house entrance/exit play a few carnival games offered by area school's PTA's.

As you near the school kitchen, you'll reach our concession stands which are being offered as a fundraiser by both the Case Theater AfterZone Club and Case Wrestling Boosters. We have planned for 16 tables of 5 which will accommodate several families as they snack or dine for lunch.

If you missed the Bounce House from the south side hall, you can enter also from the north side hall.

Before you leave, make sure you get your child's FREE SafeAssured-ID kit which includes a digital photo, personal profile, full set of digital fingerprints, voice sample, and streaming video showing movement and gait.

Please check the Just Add Kids EXPO! page on our website for updates and additions to the show.

This layout is subject to change, which may bring even a bigger element of surprise to the show. Who knows?!

AWESOME Dad

Well, most are! I know your kid's daddy might not be tops in your book, yet, in the eyes of your child, he probably is. I am so grateful that when my husband and I mutually took the risk to vow to spend our lives together, then had/have children, (while not always perfect) he ended up being quite the awesome dad. Assist your child in sharing his/her celebration of dad. (Um, I am sure you know, Father's Day is next Sunday, June 17th).  Here's a great way to do that, pocket $100 gift card for your kiddo, and knock out that Father's Day gift!  Here's how... April Wrap Up: Wrapped in Love                           In recognition of April being Autism Awareness month, Just Add Kids welcomes Colleen Nagle, a Burlington mom, as JAK's guest blogger. Autism is easy to misunderstand, misinterpret and mislead.  My son is the master of disguise and the best way to understand our kids is to assume nothing.  That is, assume only that they are kids, children, teens, silly, loving, intelligent and, well, simply put, no different than any other kid. Everything I have been told about Autism is wrong. Everything I know about Autism I have learned from my son.  My son with Autism.  He loves me just like his typical siblings love me, he cries when he misses me and he smiles when we are together again. Putting Thoughts Into (60 Second) Action                Just Add Kids welcomes Mollie Bartelt, a Caledonia mom, as JAK's guest blogger Do you want to make a difference in your life this summer? Or make a difference for a child who has a life threatening illness? Or win $1000 in a fun challenge? Game on! My story began six months ago, when my happy, healthy nine year old daughter came in from outside playing in the snow feeling dizzy. We became alarmed when she couldn’t stand up after resting a bit...her legs were wobbly and criss-crossing and she appeared to have no balance. A few short hours later in the emergency room, the situation looked worse as she was starting to slur her speech and not even be able to get words out correctly... and she couldn’t get her hands to work to put a snack in her mouth.
